BUTTERMERE WITH THE GRANDCHILDREN

John Diamond is kick starting the local fundraising with a sponsored walk in aid of the Workington Stella Maris Project.

He will be walking from Our Lady Star of the Sea and St Michael’s in Workington to St Mary’s Cleator, then onto St Begh’s in Whitehaven and back to Our Lady Star of the Sea and St Michael’s – which will be approximately 24 miles. John was diagnosis with arterial fibrillation 3 years ago and had an ablation at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle which was a success. He has worked hard to regain his fitness and now regularly enjoy walking up to 15 miles – so this will be a little stretch for him but he is determined to support this cause so dear to his heart.

If you fancy supporting John there are sponsor forms at the back of OLSM church – John and his wife Ann are there most Sunday mornings. Alternatively you can give via Just Giving – he has a dedicated page which is linked to the Lancaster Diocese because they are the main charity – however please be assured that all money raised for this event with be ring fenced for the Workington Stella Maris Project .

thank you for our support – John Diamond
